The 30 SCH Cosmetology Operator (COSM) program prepares students for a career in the Cosmetology field. The courses in this program prepare students to meet the licensure requirements set forth by the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation.  Students in the Cosmetology program will complete courses in hair design, sculpting, coloring, and chemical reformation.  You will also learn customer service, safety and sanitation. Upon completion of the program, graduates wil have completed the clock hours required to take the licensing examination administered by the State of Texas.

 

The physical requirements, mental abilities, and intensity of instruction required of Cosmetology Operator (COSM) majors are high. Therefore, all COSM major-specific courses must be completed with a grade of "C" or better, or obtain approval of the program director before continuing to take courses as a COSM major. A graduate of this program is awareded a certificate in Cosmetology Operator (COSM).
